Background of Muktagachha Upazila

The former name of Muktagacha was Binodbari. Its position is ten miles west of Mymensingh district.

When Ramaram came to Binodbari, it was a few small and poor dwellings. When the new owner arrives, the villagers present in the gift to the general public as soon as possible to see him. Among these things, a glaze (peelsuj) which was the most valuable of the Muktaram worker. For this reason, Ramram Moktaram's pearl and his graft gathered together and named it Muktagacha.

The municipality was established in Muktagachha in 1875. Under the previous law, the district magistrate was the chairman of the municipality. Later, when the chairman was appointed, the Maharaja was appointed as the first chairman of the sunrise.

From the beginning of the first world century, its scope continued to grow until the second world war. If the Hindus leave Pakistan, then its growth will be obstructed. Since then, it has been re-established as a Muslim dominant.
