River

There are several rivers in Muktagacha upazila. At one time, there was a favorable environment for
bigger boats, including bahas. But in the eighteenth century earthquake, Mymensingh region was
elevated. All the rivers of this region, including the Bahamaputra, lose youth. Yet some of the rivers
have survived  after witness of time. All kinds of youths in river life are polluted by pollution in various
 occupations. The land of the river is swallowing around. The river signs have been distinguished in

some places by bahad and small kalvat.


The rivers of Muktagachara are: Aiman ​​river, Sutia river, Sirkhali river, Banar river, Thadkura river and
Gauri river.

Sirkhali river: The Jamalpur Sadar upazila of Jamalpur district originated from the Brahmaputra river
and crossed the Mymensingh Sadar, Muktagachha upazila and fell into Akhila river in Kushmail union
of Fulbaria upazila. This river does not play tidal. However, in the rainy season the river is flooding.


Banara River:  A river in Jamalpur and Mymensingh districts of the north-central region of Bangladesh.
The length of the river is 96 kilometers, the average width is 43 meters, and the nature of the river is

spiral.Bangladesh Water Development Board or "Paubo", the contact number given by the Banar River,

is given in the North-Central region of river No. 44. Locally, the river is known as Banar in Jamalpur

Sadar upazila, Kalmadari in Fulbaria upazila and Banar in Trishal upazila.
